Just thinking about the spectrum thing , I wonder if running two different, or three different "Kelvins" would do to perception?

My LEDS are either 6K or 6.5K, and I'm in agreement that something more like 4k or 4.5K would be better. That said, my flood lights and the additional side set are an upgrade from the stock incandescent lights. Even so, if you look at the first photo I posted, the yellow light from my headlights allows more depth perception as well as greater appreciation of detail even though the LED light is brighter than the yellow headlights.

Remember Blue Blocker sunglasses? Think about what they do to give you clearer, sharper vision with less glare.
I have some of the higher K LEDs on my tractor too, and agree they give brighter light, but lower quality per lumen if that makes sense. At least on TBN most guys installing LEDs take pictures of what the lights are illuminating, which is what really matters. If you visit the truck sites, most guys post before and after pictures looking directly into the lights and since they are brighter they think they are better. Sometimes they might be, but its the pattern, distance and feel of the light that matters to me. Eric's look like great additions.

For everything but pushing snow, brighter (whiter) is better. Many new cars are using LED headlights now. I wouldn't trade my 6K LED Floods for anything but there's not much snow down here. If it does snow over night, it's usually gone by day break. We call it white rain. :)

For what it's worth, the longer wavelength colors like yellows and reds are better for bad weather as they penetrate rain and fog better. This is why fog lights are all amber or yellow. The the bluer the light, the shorter the wavelength. Bluer light is reflected back from the droplets in the fog and rain, back into your eyes which cuts back on how far and how well you can see. Newer is not always better for everything.

Good morning zmansmac. Were those bulbs easy to install? Did you just pop out the old ones and put these in? Thanks, Jim
