I dropped into the local UAP store Friday.
They had GROTE LED work lights that looked real nice in 12 and 24 volts.
Nice metal rectangular frames kinda like 3 x 5 fog lights.

Pricing was less than $50. ea (Cdn)

Were those the Trilliant mini?? I was looking at those too, but the only pattern they had on sale was spot, and I thought flood or trapezoid would be better.

looks like its just the triliant mini spots are on for 89.95 and the 63551 round floods are on for 59.95. Traction: Current Promo. Im not sure if theyll let you get traps in the place of spots. Might be worth a call to check.

Na, the guy I spoke with said no. He said they can only give the sale price on that particular part #. He did say to keep watching though as they usually have something on special at any given time, so only a matter of time before the floods or trap's are on.

Do you guys think I'm correct in saying the floods or traps are the best choice?? I'm planning on mounting one high and on the outside of either side of my ROPS facing forward, and 2 hanging down from the crossbar of the ROPS facing back.

I have two forward facing and two rear facing worklights. One trap and one flood for each direction gives me a mix of beam patterns for forward and reverse.

My lights are halogen made by Peterson. I sure hope the LED bulbs work as I'd like to replace the amp sucking incandescents with LED's.

Do you have them aimed so they're overlapping?? Trap for distance, flood for width??

MJNCAD: I am a little surprised you can support 2 forward and 2 rears halogens with your alternator. I am curious what output you have on your alternator? (I only have about 180 watts gross, then deducting the factory lights doesnt' leave enough to power much additional lighting)

Your alternator puts out 15-amps, and my shop manual states that the stock alternator on my 4200 puts out 40-amps. There was an optional 60 - 70 amp alternator available, and I don't recall if I ordered it or not, and my sales invoice just gives the sales codes for the options I ordered for it.

I need to find out what my alternator actually is rated for; but there isn't anything on the housing giving an amp rating.

The factory headlights on the 4200 are 37.5 watts each according to the manuals.

I also have all my lights on separate circuits so I can control just how much juice I draw.

Your Right these are bomb proof and probably light up a small town. I sold around 50 to a couple of local guys and just love them. Around here they usually use them on Logging Trucks that usually travel through the mountains. And some the guys have told me that they are unreal. But I usually sell them for 445 + Freight

That actually looks pretty interesting.

I liked them until I clicked on the drop down bar. 149.00 was for a 4" light..
Stepping up to a 22" is 750.00  and it goes up from there..

I know LED's produce a lot on near light but how do they do for projecting light at a distance?

I have a pair of John Deere's LED head/work lights. So far I am not too impressed. I thought they were suppose to be brighter?? they are a blueish/white light but are over powered by the halogen bulbs. I am somewhat spoiled with a HID modified spot sitting front and center. Which is nice as long as you are not the one looking towards it,, then it is blinding. Anyway, until someone proves me wrong I would not recommend the John Deere LED tractor head lights.....

try these Maxxima MWL-01
Maxxima LED Lighting and Accessories
You can find them on Ebay for 70. that was the best deal I could find.

Although I am a fan of technology and I own several LED flashlights, 280 lumens doesn't sound very bright for a tractor light. A PAR36 halogen work light is less than $20 almost everywhere, and it produces 700 lumens of light; and this is only a 36 watt bulb. I have been unimpressed with LED work lighting for the most part. They are getting better, but still too expensive for what you get.

I agree they could stand to be a little brighter. Like all technology they have improved over the last year. You can get almost double the lumens for not much more money. They ones I listed above are not bad for extra lights but I'm looking to upgrade them and at least double the lumens.

This one looks interesting 900 lumens each pkg of two
