I ripped apart the entire carb today, the floats looked great. One accelerator pump piston was seized solid with carbon, It was so tight I could hardly pull it out with needle nose pliers. The other side was really loose and the bowl gasket was blown out/torn. I suspect its from the back firing or 50 yrs. of neglect (probably both). I fit the new pistons to the bore so they move freely and pump air really good. Hopefully this is the fix, tomorrow first light I'll have it back together to try out.
