Thanks davrow for the compliment. You nailed it too. When I first started out greasing my tractor, I too was having a hard time with some zerks, especially getting the tip of the gun to remove from the 'captive' zerks on the loader arms. I kept looking at the tip and saying to myself, eventually, why would they go to the trouble to machine a knurled pattern into the tip metal if there was no point in it being there?! Bingo! It unscrews.:duh:
And yes, it should come with directions, which could be as simple as telling buyers to unscrew the knurled section for tip loosening/tightening on the zerk. Again, duh! Such a simple thing, but so much confusion because of no directions whatsoever.:confused2: They could even print it on the box like add milk to cereal to make it taste better.
Didn't everyone read the old grease gun and a screwdriver thread? (see below) I had a hard time convincing some folks that tip really did unscrew!
I think the same Korean gorilla that puts on the Kioti hydraulic filters also has a sideline of assembling grease gun coupler tips.
