Have you tried moving the pin that connects the toplink to the boom farther out toward the end of the boom/PHD head? Then adjust the toplink to be as short as it'll go... Your toplink may be binding, or you need a shorter toplink.
Have you tried taking the auger out, disconnecting the toplink and PTO shaft, and lifting it with just the lower lift arms. Thought it'll try to rotate the head backwards you should be able to shove it back up enough to check to see how high the lower lift arms will lift it... That'll tell you if the problem is in the way the toplink is connected.
Just a thought... thank goodness I don't have to hassle with a 3PH any more...
Though, I am thinking of getting a Leinbach and putting a QA plate and hydraulic motor on it.
