Lenar FS-274
Closing in on the 50 hour mark and want to change out the fluids. Tractor is a 2004 Lenar FS274-1 w/4WD and manual gear tranny. The manual is a little lacking on specs on the fluids to use.

Engine oil: Lists 15W-40, simple enough
Power Steering: None specified, do not see a separate pump, other than something that kind of looks like a pump right in front/beside the injector pump. Based on the hose routing it looks like power steering is shared with the other tranny/hydraulics.
Coolant: None officially listed, but figure a 50/50 antifreeze mix is ok
Injection Pump: None specified, assuming 15W-40 is ok???
Front Axle: None specified, assuming 80W-90W is ok or should I the same thing as tranny (if different)???
Transmission: Lists 15W-40, which sounds thin given the gear design. As I understand it, it has a shared tranny/hydraulic sump design, would this require thinner oil than say 80w-90 gear oil. Should I use a universal tranny/hydraulic oil??? If so, what spec?

Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated.

I am also having some power loss issues as well in another post on the Chinese Tractor forum...

I assume a diesel? Get a diesel rated antifreeze.

Yes it is a diesel (3 cyl). Never knew there was a difference in antifreeze between gas and diesel???

I just learned that there is (from TBN). Something to do with cavitation, etc.
Look for a antifreeze that says for heavvy duty diesel. I went to the local Case dealer and got what they use.

No problem. TBN has saved me a lot of trouble. I first put in auto antifreeze and had one of the great members here let me now that may not have been the best choice. TBN is a great source of good info.

Make sure your 15w-40 is diesel rated too. The only Lenars I've seen were on ebay but there is a dealer on there who might be able to help answer your other questions on fluids. How do you like your tractor? Based on what I've seen on ebay I have to say they look nice for the price but haven't found much info on them.

yes use diesel rated antifreeze

use engine oil specifically rated for diesels. This is diesel only engine oil and it will say so in big letters.

go to a tractor dealership and get their hydraulic fluid for the tranny. depending on your locale, you might want a low viscosity fluid. The dealer can help you there. Doesn't much matter what kind of tractor dealership you go to, the transaxle/hydraulic pumps all have pretty similar requirements in fluid. These transaxles hold a lot of fluid, more than you might expect so get yourself a big tub to drain it! :)

Be prepared to chase down a washer for the drain plugs. They might not be reusable.

I am actually a bit surprised that you need to change the hydraulic fluid at 50 hrs. It is usually just engine oil, check/replace air cleaner and torque loader and wheel bolts.

I got some Mobil Delvac 15W-40, was a few cents cheaper than Shell Rotella at Wally World. I actually use the synthetic rotella in my gas autos, got tired of changing oil every month. Figure it should be able to handle 5k in the truck and car.

For the price the lenar is not bad and I have not had too many problems with it. In a years time the hour meter has quit, I broke the 4wd lever (my fault) and now it keeps losing power once to temp. Might just be some debris or something simple...we'll see. The fit and finish is ok, not a JD or Kubota, but also half the price. I bought mine off ebay and made a 4 hour trip from Cincy to Terra Haute to pick it up. If I had to do it again, would have found someone more local. Supposedly the newer ones are better made.
