Hi guys,

Is was wondering if any of you has had experience with Lenar tractors, and could tell me if they are worth $5,500. Meaning experience, driving the tractor, etc.

Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The Lenar is a good tractor. I am assuming a used one for that price. The Lenar uses an engine that to my knowledge is unique to the Lenar. Lenars are marketed through an exlusive arrangement in the USA and last I heard, there is a nationwide distributor in Texas. This means you have a single source of parts, perhaps a very adequate one, but no redundancy like KAMA an JINMA with multiple US importers.

For a little more you could get a new KAMA TS254C with the Yangdong engine (very common in US).

The first series lenar sits very high, which sort of gives it platform type floorboards, The shifter can be very stiff and on early one just flops from side to side.

But at $5500 you are not risking much and it is a good tractor.

What model Lenar are you looking at? There are several new models that I am sure have not had a lot of exposure as of yet; i.e. - 200, 204, 254, 354.

I'm mainly interested in the FS-247 , but I wanted to find out about the quality overall.

The FS 274-1 has a very open platform, a two year parts and labor warranty, very tight turning radius, and very good customer support. I have not driven the Jinma, Kama, etc., but from fit and finish observations the Lenar is superior over the other Chinese tractors that I have seen. I have not had any luck with chinese batteries, I just replace with a known reliable brand, nothing to me is worse than a new tractor not starting. In nothern, colder climate this is much more critical than warmer southern areas. The new Lenar USA has shown to be excellent people to work with, IMHOP! I hope this helps you.

I have owned a 2002 FS274 and a 2004 Kama TC354C. I felt the kama the better machine in design and fit and finish. The turning radius is tight on the FS274 but I had hydraulic leaks and pinched power steering hose with it. The power steering cylinder is mounted forward the front axle and you must be careful. I liked the FS274 but I love the Kama. Just my observations.

I wonder how much longer Lenar tractors, at least any built by Jiangling, will continue to be available. Mahindra bought that company and has seemed to indicate that they will discontinue the FS models.
