I was just walking over the bridge this evening and thinking how I was going to finish it off.........
So, what are you going to be making or teaching in the evening class?
I've got to go measure an opening for a walk gate this morning. It's in a gated community with zero lot lines. That means HOA rules.
The client wants to have the gate match an existing gate and he wants expanded metal over the lower half of both gates to keep his cat in.
The way I would normally want to do a job like this is to use curves and design to make smaller openings, kind of contain the cat without making the gate look like it's supposed to contain a cat. But it's been my experience that the last thing they should give architects and draftsmen is straight edges. They seem to be unable to draw without them.
So what I would like to teach the kids is to think without straight lines when possible. Curves not only give definition, they express personality.
