Here's my well used 10 y/o Spyderco, which did everything from skinning a beaver to serving as a defense carry. Love this knife, carry it all the time.

My primary truck knife.
Sog Vulcan - everyday work - It quickly opens with one hand by the kick (push with index finger and flip - Top right on knife) or post with thumb. Carbon handle, triple coated edge, heavy constructed and long lasting. This one is 15 years old I think - everyday use.
Times have changed. We get used to carrying a working pocket knife. About 3 months into the pandemic, I needed to go to the SSA Office. Got there 1/2 hour before the door opened. Very long line, but I was third in because I got there so early. After entering, I each of us were stopped by the security officer. "Do you have any type of weapon on you?" Crap. I told him - a work knife. He let me stay realizing I would go to the end of the line when I came back from the truck. He instructed me - sit down there, I will watch you when they call you. Maybe it will be quick, and it was. He was being nice and gave me a break. I know knives were not permitted, but was so used to it, just as keys in my pocket.

Nice looking knife. The double edge might be too much for me.
I carried the Schrade Uncle Henry Stockman knife for many years when I was young. Probably because that is what my father always used. Also some Case stock knives. I stopped carrying this great knife because it was always a two-handed operation. Then I got the SOG above. I will never carry a knife again that takes two hands to use. So easy to use a kick and flip open like the SOG. And who would have figured, appears this one was made in the USA. I guess I should check to see if the others were also. I think I have four of them. Wonder if they are still made in the US. I think this one must be about 35 years old. I haven't used it for 15 years since I got the SOG.

Yes. I had never heard of the brand when I changed the type of knife I wanted to use. They had great reviews. I bit the bullet and tried them. My SOG I think cost about $110 - I also thought it was a lot. Because of that - over the years, I still only have one (and not an extra for losing it). But is has been many years ago and it has been used a lot. It is heavy built and has never failed or broken. I wouldn't let it go - I would miss it too much. Great product. I don't know if SOG still makes this design. Mine was made in Japan.

When I was a kid, I always carried a Swiss Army Knife, the Tinker model I believe.
