Let's talk 9mm hand guns

something in my gut says that my big ole' 686P revolver might be my best friend when the SHTF. I know that won't fail me but how do I hide that beast! 9mm are a happy compromise. Having a few different 9mm is convenient too.

I'm 6' 0" and a bit north of 200 lbs (I think) and can fairly well conceal the 686P with 3" barrel in a Falco 42/22 shoulder holster under a loose fitting shirt. Rides right against my rib cage in the hollow between my love handle and lat muscle. As you say, at 2 1/4 lbs, it is a beast you won't forget it is there very easily, and it won't fail you :yes:

Ok, so I''v been known to carry my 4" 586 in a Bianchi shoulder holster.

Anyone watch hickok45 on youtube, a lot of carry, striker, hammer fired, thumb safety etc information from this guy. the guy knows his guns, he is a Glock guy but does great reviews on all kinds of firearms and he very interesting. He was a LEO for 12 years, pretty smart guy, I enjoy watching him.

I enjoyed his reviews of my favorite rifle. He seemed to enjoy reviewing it also. Sig Sauer 556 SWAT Classic. I swear it is one of the most natural point and shoot weapons ever sold, besides a shotgun...

How about a rifle that uses a pistol cartridge and shares the same pistol magazine . The Kel-Teck is 9mm or 40S&W and uses Glock 17/19/22/23 mags or Sig Sauer 226, or Beretta 92/96 mags .
The Citadel M1 is 9mm and uses Beretta 92FS mags.

Me, too. I just wish his videos hadn't gotten so long lately. I do credit him (or curse at him, not sure which yet) for inspiring my recent desire to own a .357 lever action rifle. I'd never even been remotely interested in lever actions until watching his videos. Just seems like a great idea sharing ammo with a handgun.

I have to say, there are few things more fun than a pistol caliber lever action. Now go find your self a JM stamped Marlin 1894. Dont wince at the price, just buy it. It'll be worth more next year.

Oh, yeah ... a JM 1894C stainless round barrel would be ideal. But, those prices ... :shocked:
Been considering the Rossi/Puma model 92 as an alternative. I don't care as much for the top ejection, but I can live with it, as I've no plans to mount a scope.

My daughter took a class where she was able to shoot a variety of handguns (both revolvers and semi auto) in a classroom environment and ask lots of questions. She settled on full size (5") 45 that she carries in the small of her back. I saw a bunch of male friends greet her one time and they were all giving her hugs... found out later that they were checking to see if she was packing without asking her outright... I never know when she has her gun on.
