I own 2 scopes (a Rifleman and a Mk4) and an RXIII rangefinder made by Leupold. I'm a firm believer in their optics...they hold up well and take a beating. Anyhow...

A week or so ago, I was moving the Rifleman from one weapon to another. Upon sighting it in, I couldn't find one of the elevation/windage protective covers. I have searched and searched and can't find it. I then went online looking for one and that too was futile.

So, I called Leupold. A minute later, I'm getting one mailed to my residence for FREE:eek: I mean hey, it's not like it's expensive or anything, but at the end of our call I asked "how much"? The guy said "no charge". AWESOME!!!

In this day and age, it's the small details that matter the most! Just thought I'd "plug-em", I know there are a lot of shooters on TBN.

Tasco did the same thing for me with a machined screw on aluminum battery cover(fairly detailed part) on a Tasco Pro-Point red dot sight. Great service!

I have a leupold 2X pistol scope on my Redhawk and it is a great scope. It has withstood magnum hammering for nearly 20 years now...

Every once in a while a company dazzles you with customer service. i remember when I found the retaining ring missing ont he input shaft to my KK 5' mower gearbox.. this ring holds the pto shaft on AFTER the shear pin breaks.. it's probably a 25 cent ring.. but mine was gone.. I called in to order it , and got he same response... one came in the mail in 2 days.. for free.

This is something many companies do as it is cheaper to just give it away than to bill for it. By the time they charge your credit card, give the clerks the paperwork, invoice it, log it, file it, etc, it's cheaper to just write it off. This is a big reason I never charge for o-rings. Even if thats all they came in for. I just tell them to come back when they need a hose.

I put a leupold VX-III on my Sako .243 last fall. Beautiful scope. I am having accuracy issues with it, I don't think it's the scope itself, maybe the mounts. One shot I'm dead bull, next shot I'll be 6" off, at 50 yards. I have to spend time with it this spring and see what's going on. I have never seen so clearly thru a scope before as this one.

I've had similar experience with Sprotsman's Guide - when an item wasn't right upon arrival, I called the they told me to give it away the replacement would be arriving in 3 days.

and just this week I sent an email to Duluth Trading, asking for was a source for replacement gears, (back in 11/06 I bought one of those emergency hand crank radios and the gears stripped during our 12/07 power outage) and they're sending me a new radio and a mailing label to return the broken one, no questions asked!

Several years ago I took a Sthil saw in because it wouldn't start. When I went to pick it up I asked the repairman how much as it was past warranty. "No charge" when I asked why he said the ingition module went bad and when he called to order the part, they told him those don't go bad, ever so no charge to fix it.

I've delt with Loupold and they are a good company. I also own lot's of Fisker's stuff and they have like customer service. Unfortunatly, Fiskers is starting more and more to go Chinese and that doesn't make me happy.

I sell a lot of Leupolds here with the rifles I build and I have never once had a warranty issue yet. I've had a customer bring one in that he dropped out of a tree and it lost it's zero. Technically Leupold didn't have to fix that for free but they did.
Once I got in a new Mk 4 for a rifle and the flip up lens caps in the box were the wrong ones. They had the right ones here the next day and told me to keep the others. I really do like that company.

RCBS is another great one. I've lost parts in moves before for my progressive press and I told them that but they still sent me what I needed for free, no questions asked. One of the parts was an entire powder measure almost. They didn't care. I stick with companies like that for life.
