New Member. Joined as I just purchased my new JD x739. 20 hours so far and love it. I live on several acres and mow about 3 acres of grass and a field beside the house. I have the 60"HC deck and put the protection grille on the front. Will post photo soon. Lots of trees, shrubs and my wife's flower garden areas to mow around. Terrain is very steep front yard with lots of ups and down place to mow.
Learned my JD L series mistake in about 300 or so hours and not buying from the big box boys ever again. Everything they sell has that piece of junk 46 series hydro tranny that is worthless if you mow more then an acre of flat ground it will die in no time. I am sure you guys know about that tranny as every small lawn "mower" virtually has the same one in it. The parts to fix it and my time would have run around $600.00 in parts and several hours to switch it out.
I had an old Simplicity that lasted over 20 years before I bought that L junk.
Hope to enjoy this site and others going forward. Advice is always welcome and I prefer to go to the guys that are on their equipment and fix their own.
