Insurance LIABILITY INSURANCE - For general purpose small business TRACTOR RELATED WORK

Like the title says ... looking for recommendations pertaining to liability insurance. I'm considering taking on some side jobs pertaining to general tractor work, including stump grinding, brush work, tree work, mowing, and even equipment transportation. Not a full time event by any means, but I'd like to be insured if I do ANY work on anyone's property. My homeowners doesn't want any part of it (StateFarm)... and said I should look for small-business insurance. Someone mentioned I should look to a general landscaping policy, but I don't know if that would cover everything unless I list it specifically.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, and possibly give me an idea on pricing as well? I'm in Michigan.

I would look at Farm bureau insurance, I have my homeowners, liability for our livestock, and my tractor liability insurance with them. Which a I also have liability insurance on my rental property with them. I will get some flames for them from other posters because of there 35 dollar a year membership, but there insurance rates are cheap enough and they stand behind there insurance. You will get that back in perks and rates. I am in fact moving my auto insurance from State Farm cause there rated are steadily going up and I have give them no reason why! LUTT

There are independent insurance brokers who will identify your needs and find an insurance company to provide the coverage. Insurance company's and broker's will provide coverage for any risk that you can identify. Don't be insurance poor. Consider a high deductible (self insure for the first XXX thousands) Also, look in to creating a Limited Liability Company (a lawyer can help with this) to limit your liability exposure so anyone placing a claim against you, cannot touch your personal assets.

Same here. Many simply said no thanks, we don't insure for those operations. I'm still looking for the right answer.

I’m in PA, $300k general liability for tractor work business is $37.50 a month through Next Insurance and I can stop it anytime. That covers excavation less then 8’.

$850 a year for a landscaping policy through a local broker. If I start digging it goes up to $9,000 a year or something. My side hustle doesn't do any digging (other than post holes, which are included in the landscaping policy).
