Lifespan of a newer Deere tractor - how long do you expect your tractor to last?

I've found that generally front tires fail before the rears. I think there's more flex to them and a smaller area for them to flex, thereby early cracking.

Just a hunch.

Take a look at the tire of 40 year old tractors and tire still usable. very few cracks unless allowed to sit flat for long periods of time. These tires were used pulling a plow where the side wall was rubbing against the soil and never wore out. the tread is worn and still never went flat. Tractor usually parked out side.

The new tractors kept parked out of the sun and side wall very thin where a stick or rock will puncher The side wall. tread wears out in couple of years. and price a tube that will not keep the valve stem attached to
tube is unreal.
I have a neighbor that has started to use auto.tires and likes them for the front tires. higher pressure and front end loader doesn't seem to effect the steering.

One of my constant drumbeats on this site is to buy good tires and even to consider swapping out new tractor tires for a set of Firestones, maybe radials or whatever before delivery and with pricing part of the packge. Maybe not for a 20HP sub-CUT but with a farm or rougher use tractor. I have done this with the last two tractors and despite typical operating conditions have had zero issues.

My Deere 5520 got Firestone radials and they are a brut of a tire. I can't recall exactly but I think they weigh 50% more than the OEM's. After nearly 10 years and 600? hours of farm and construction sites they look like new. The little rubber nibbins on the tread are mostly still there and I have driven maybe 60 miles on blacktop. I consider the relatively minor cost of a new tire trade in to be part of the tractor purchase.

Agreed. New tractor OEM tires should be approached cautiously.

From what I see is that the hydrostatic tranny's are more rugged than what the contractor has to spout. Seems they are pretty bullet-proof, and I'd worry more about the electronics parts, switches, and safety junk hanging around everywhere. But then that is Deere mostly.

All the electronics can be completely replaced (usually by the owner/operator) for less than the price of a HST rebuild--which generally CANNOT be performed by the owner/operator. For him, (his jobs generally run 18-24 hours/day, because of the nature of his work), a machine that is down for 2 weeks for repairs is a disaster. Having his mechanic replace a switch same /next day for the price of the part is at a completely different level.

BTW, his HST failures have generally been in wheeled and treaded skidsteers. For those, he buys new or gets a money back warranty if buying used for a job.

Yep. Had to replace the front tires on my 08 BX 25, because they were constantly leaking, and the cost of putting in a tube etc. was not worth it. So brand-new tires on the rims, and filled them. no more leaks!

Everything else works fine, and after 450 hours no sign of aging at all. (Can't say the same of me, however!)

Not brand loyal here.I now own Kubota,John deere,Ingersoll and Kioti products.I also have owned Ford 8n,allis chalmers,Massey ferg.and JD tractors from the 1940,s and 50,s.So to answer your question I am sure tractors can last well past 3,000 -4,000 hours if properly maintained and stored inside verses out in the weather.

You may have a good suggestion about type of tires
My B and Wd-45 both had Firestone also the Farmall b and never considered tire problems.
the Kubota and this this 4520 has Titans surely the cost difference taking in cost of getting fixed and aggravation of removing and reinstalling.

Also the side of road re-sale worn tires stops the looking no matter how shiny it is on top.
