I recently acquired a rather used attachment for my FEL (free) that has what appears to be a light rust/corrosion inside the steel tubes near the end fittings. Is there any easy way to adequately clean this or are these tubes trashed and have to be replaced. I was wondering if they could be flushed with some type of solvent thoroughly then put them back in service. Maybe run a wire brush through the tubes like cleaning a rifle barrel. Any ideas? Should I put an inline filter on the output for a while to prevent any particulate from returning to the sump and the rest of the tractor?

Try searching for rust removal using electrolysis and washing powder. I would paste you a link but this darn motel computer wont let me cut and paste. All you need is a tank big enough to hold the piece you want to clean, a good battery charger, ( I have used a dc welder, must be dc, ac will electrocute) some 20mule team borax (other washing powders wont work), some water, and patience. Once cleaned, you rinse the part off with plain water, dry and paint or oil to prevent rust from re-occuring. I have used this process to remove heavy, crusted rust from vise's, tools, chevy heads, and even the entire insides of a 1200 gal hydroseeder tank, it does work and verywell.
