Sometimes I am lazy and just use this:

It lets the person that posted know I read the post and like it.

Is a Dislike Button Politically Correct, is someone going to post that if offends them by someone disliking them and want it removed ??????????? LoL !

I understand the dislike of the LIKE button, "all the Young ones want it... they are addicted to i, (what are we all old bastards can not accept new things), BUT I am not a young man, wish I was but everyone take a turn at it and wishes they were back there, but some of the new ideas will streamline the site, bring it up to speed to todays standards and as I said reduce the overall storage needed for a Site of this size.

As I said the reason I ask is I want to tell someone that their post is a good one but I don't want to get started in why I like it or how I like it or do not like it and "I might write something that is not acceptable to EVERYONE or is that SOMEONE" !

The Quote idea, about a return to the OP's posting, I didn't know about it, thanks for the info.
Is the abbreviation "Info" ok to use... or is that too much of a YOUNG thing.

Thanks for the info, I will see about using the Quote Return Button and I will attempt NOT to be "Up to date", if you will, on my suggestions.

Sorry if this offends someone, everything I say offends someone or something, and after reading about changing the title of a thread because it offends someone, how do I write something, I always offend someone, I find it hard not to say something that does not offend someone !

Got carried away... AGAIN !

Thanks for the replies !

Use the advanced google search for TBN and you will find the many previous threads about a "like button" etc., et al. and why the suggestion is always nixed by a large majority... (and rightfully so)...

I tried the GOGGLE search and it didn't work that well. I searched for "LIKE Button" and ended up with the following:

1) I got every "Like" in the Site, not good... the Google Search give you everything that is similar or that they want you to see, that is the same method used in their Site Searches. Too much data is may not be a good thing !

2) When I click on a Thread in the list given to me by the Goggle Search, I then have to look through the Thread to find where it is used, it does not go to the exact Post where the word you are looking for or the one the Google wants you to see, is actually located.

But Thanks, I still like the "LIKE" Button.

If you click the >> icon after a members name in a quoted text box it will link you the quoted post...

I tried this, yes it works, thank you !

Can we permanently expel from the known universe any person that promotes the use of anything as silly as a 'Pat on the Back' or 'AttaBoy- Gold Star' button?

Sure, right after they permanently expel anyone who refuses to list their location.....

With a minimum amount of scrolling it works well enough to see that the exact same debates are nothing but a dead horse that gets repeated because people do not search before posting something that a majority understands why it is a poor idea...

...as I said reduce the overall storage needed for a Site of this size...

This can be done by searching and not rehashing a dead horse ad nauseam...

Although I have said it before, I think it is useful to say it again whenever this comes up. The value of TBN is in the content. A Like button adds no content. Who cares if you like or do not like something. What matters is the experience, thought, and respect that goes into a useful thread. There are plenty of places where you can push a Like button all you want, if that is what you want to do. There is no need to infect this site with a lowest common denominator tool.

I would rather have a full thought from someone than a like. A like button is lazy.

Who cares if it's lazy. I use a LIKE button simply to let someone know I agree with them.

:drink: Since all the "tools" already exist, a "like" button is totally unnecessary.

,, :confused3:

Oh well, another subject good while killing time when it is too wet to be working in the fields.

a like button avoids more of this "Some people talk a lot but never say anything" :)
