Limiter chains too long?

Daryl, are you using CAT1 tools with bushings? I have CAT1 and CAT2 lift (4ea, sway/no sway) and top link holes and find it difficult to hook up CAT 1 stuff in CAT1 mode . The top link seems too long for CAT1 stuff especially. I've thought about trimming top link tube so I can adjust shorter, but afraid I might ruin threads. Guess I should run 2 seperate top links. Wondering if you have same problem that you've found cure for?

MMM:

I don't have any problem whatsoever. The 5030 came with pins and bushes for CAT2 to 1. I bought a bunch of extra bushes just to have in the tool box. My top link has never been a problem at all. I don't have sway chains on the lower arms. Kubota uses a telescoping tube arrangement with a really wide range of adjustment.

I usually leave the bushes on the pins on the CAT 1 implements. As a matter of fact, I spot welded them on. That way, I don't have to fiddle around with them when I hook up. The only time I felt that the top link was too extended was when the Lucknow 78 is on. To level the blower, the TL must be almost at full extension.

The whole 3 point on the 5030 is very adjustable. When I am pulling the spreader or the MoCo or a rake, I remove it entirely. That way, the arms don't get in the way of the tongue swing. 4 lynch pins and it's off the unit.
