Loader limiting loader hydraulic pressure?

If you wish to slow the Speed of the Loader there is a restrictor available from your Massey Ferguson dealer to slow the loader down.

Yesterday, visited with the parts manager and the service manager at my Massey Ferguson dealer. Their response; "we'll have to research the issue" "maybe there's an adjustment on the joystick we can make".

Do you have a part number? Is this an aftermarket part (which I'm not opposed to).

Flow restrictors exist and can be purchased from most hydraulic supply houses.

In fact I made a couple just a week ago. I simply took a male to female -8 fitting and brazed the passage shut and then drilled a 3/32 hole in the brazed area. The narrowed passage slowed that cylinder down to a manageable speed.

I started with 3/32 thinking that I could re bore if too slow but the result was just what we wanted.
A restrictor slows things down without sacrificing power.
You can even insert a narrower hose somewhere in the circuit and accomplish the same thing.

My homemade restrictors cost me $4.00 each to make. They had factory ones available at $10 ea but not in stock.

I started my 1643 yesterday in -3 degrees Fahrenheit weather & the loader was nice & slow. But I don't recommend this to everyone.

An inline restrictor, Or just learn to feather the controls a bit better. You don't have to yank the joystick full open to make a movement occur. You for sure don't want to lower the pressures. For small cylinders, a restrictor could be necessary, but I have never seen a need to do this on an FEL, speed up maybe but not slow down.

I don't know if you got the answer you wanted, but this is the way to reduce the speed of operation.

Install a needle valve in the work ports of bucket line and or the lift lines.

Smaller hoses might work also.

Then adjust the flow to the speed of operation you want.

You now have the full range of zero flow to full flow going to the loader.

It doesn't have anything to do with pressure. Pressure is developed by the load.
