I just picked up a nice used snow plow for my tractor, it has the quick attach mount and the flat skid steer type coupler for angling the plow hydraulics on about three foot lines which I am not at all familiar with.

I am thinking of just having a simple set up made consisting of some lines long enough to go from my rear remotes to reach the male and female flat faced coupler on the plow hoses.

Would I be alright with this setup or is there something more I should know?

That will work no problem. Just did it on my tractor. Mine is a 7.5 fisher plow. Ran quarter inch lines from the rear remote to those 2 angling cylinders. Works like a charm.

Yup, will work just fine. Mine are permanently attached. Run under the tractor to a set of quick connects so i can remove the loader easily (in my case i remove loader alot) and on to the rear remotes. Works slick.

Thanks guys, I thought it would work OK, those skid steer style flat faced couplers on the plow lines threw me a bit of a curve because it is the first time I have ever seen them.

my loader mount blower came with the flat faced couplers. And after using them, i much prefer them to the other kinds. They hook up WAY easier even under pressure. Also, theres no way to trap dirt. Too bad there so darn $$$$$ or id would switch all my couplers over

If you do allot of plowing and are concerned about catching the lead edge of the plow on curbs or pavement (or rocks and stumps and stuff).....you may consider adding a crossover relief valve between your cylinders and the control valve.

The crossover relief valve will divert fluid to the other cylinder if / when you hit the plow. Then you just angle it back to its rightfull position after the event.

Some guys feel it is a good thing to have.....and most of the major plow makers furnish such a valve. Like trip springs....it may be good insurance. ;)

Heres a pic of mine.

Here's a pic of my line from the rear remote. On a L2800 think they were 20' when I had them made to reach the plow lines 1/4" in size.

You will probably be dollars ahead to remove the FF couplers and buy two 1/4" or 3/8" ISO coupler pairs to use instead. You don't need the expense or flow capability of the flat face couplers.
