My current gauge is dying. I've got some liquid filled gauges (like 0-2000 PSI) for when I measure pressure on my PTO or something.... got me thinking about getting a liquid filled for the air gauge.

In part, it strikes me a bit as over kill however, if I get a cheap one, they just feel soooooooooooooooooooooo flimsy.....

So anyone have any opinions on various brands/styles for a liquid filled tire gauge? For the first time ever, I just now looked them up and found 2-3 brands, none of which I know anything about and I'm sure all of which are made in China.

Interesting idea. I would be curious on how you like it if you do decide to get one. I have also found the cheap ones to be flimsy but I guess they work good enough for what their job in life is.

What actually got me thinking about this is the gauge on my air compressor is cheap cheap cheap. Stopped working so had to replace it with a new, cheap cheap cheap on..... now that I have the oil filled gauges for reading PTO pressure or something.... it has me thinking on swapping everything over to that style. Might be mental but they just FEEL nicer.

Wow that is expensive! Looks like good quality though.

I'm constantly filling tires on my flexwing mower. Rims probably need replaced. Front tire on riding mower... (again, probably needs replaced, both of them)

Interestingly, I'm pretty retentive about keeping GOOD tires on my car thankfully!!!

Has me debating merits on changing cheapo gauges on my air compressor too....only need to go up to 200 psi as I recall.

Definitely a good idea on the compressor. If I bought one for checking tires I could never tell my Dad. He would say "Boy you've got more money than sense"

As far as the tires always going down, get some of that John Deere goop and put in there. That is some of the best stuff I have ever seen. My tire on the Kioti were so weathered and cracked the were leaking in about 20 different areas. I put that stuff in and never added air for 3 years. When I finally replaced the tires, it just wiped off the rim with no signs of rust.

Don't know what that call it but it comes in a gallon jug with a hand pump. Just remove the valve stem core and pump a 8 OZ or so in and fill it up with air. I believe that stuff would seal off a 1/4 inch hole no problem.

It is a JOHN DDEERE brand item? Or an item a JD dealer sells?

I not sure what K5lwq is referring to but I have used a product called "Slime" on 4 wheeler tires with a punctures up to ½ inch. Slime can be bought at Walmart, O'Reilly's or any auto parts store for about $20.00. Put amount in as per instructions and drive tractor around for awhile to distribute to slime. Air in the tire forces the Slime into the cracks and or punctures to seal your tire.
