so i was hopeing i wasnt going to have to ask this but time is running out...

I bought my TC33D home 2 weeks ago. When i picked it up at the dealer (250miles south of me) i asked him to "go over it with me"

what i got was some dude that barly spoke 2 words and didnt seem to know much about it in the first place.

Not only that they didnt have any of the paperwork (manuals) that went with a) the loader b) the mower deck c) the tractor.

so the next monday i called up sounding irritated about my experience. Salesman say the paperwork was in the mail and but that the tractor manual was on order as he didnt have one (still not in my hand a week later). (he applogized said it was a his mistake for not having the stuff)

anyway cutting to the chase....

I finnally get around to kick'n the tires, check'n under the hood... that sort of thing the other day figureing no big deal the dealer had done some "1000 point check" of it before he sent it home with me..... hmmmm perhaps not so much.... ya so under the hood the big 2 liter "bottle" with something to the effect of "power stearing fluid" is like.... well "empty"

so im reading the manuals for the MMM and loader (cause you know i need to know how to adjust the hight on the deck and all... and well no one told me how to do that, or how to take the loader off... )
and i happen to notice that at 200hrs you are to change the belt and oil in the gear box on the MMM. well i can virtually garneetee that didnt happen.

so i was hoping i could get some quick answers for the following as i have a big 4 day tractor weekend lined up and need to make shure we are good to go.

1) what do you run for tire pressure?
2) what engine oil?
3) what hydrolic oil and were do you put it? diffrent oil for the HST and powersteering and FEL hydrolics?
4) what oil goes in the front/rear axles?
5) whats the service interval?

from my research ive seen 300 hrs... but is that 300hrs on the hr meter, or 300hrs after the 50 hr service (so 350 hrs)

Tractor has 221hrs on it. had 216 when unloaded off the trailer on my property.... (as the sig says..TC33D)

1- for my tc18 manual says R4s front 26-37psi rear 26-37psi I usually run the front at 26 and the rear at 15 (the R4s are designed for much heavier machines (skid steers etc) than these tractors. If the tires bulge, put more air in (w/i the limit).

2 - diesel rated 10W30
3 - NH134 or NH F200A (synthetic) same for HST, power steering, hydraulics, front and rear axles
4 - see #3
5 -

1st 50 - change engine oil & filter, HST & Hydraulic filters only, fuel filter
every 50 - check everything, lube grease fittings, drain fuel filter
every 100 - change engine oil & filter , clean air filter & fuel filter
every 200 - adjust brake, change fuel filter, adjust fan belt, check steering play
every 300 - change HST & hydraulic oil & filter, front axle & reduction oil,
every 600 - change power steering oil, check fuel injector & valve clearance

seasonal - change antifreeze, change air filter
every 1000 or every 3 years - change secondary air filter.

Don't worry, when you get your manual, it has pretty good instructions on how do do all this. Be sure you get a big oil pan - your tractor has in excess of 5 gallons of hydraulic oil in it.

I'd do the 300 hour change at 300 on the clock - you should have original oil in there, except for what they had to add back after changing the filters at 50 hours. I short cycled the oil change so everything now lines up on the 100's.

Re the MMM - if the tractor has 200 hours on it, the MMM likely has much less - the interval is for MMM use, not hour meter. personally I'd adjust the belt tension and change it when it breaks. I'm still on my original belt. I'll probably pick one up to have when I need it.

Hope this helps

ya my theory on the belts is obious visiual sign of wear needing replacement. afterall its not like my belts on my car were it will leave me standed if it breaks...

as for the actuall hrs on the deck... i see what you mean, but judging from the condition of the tractor i think its likely that it was primarly used to mow with in its previous life.

so how do you gustimate your mower hrs? do you religously log them? or just have a mental note that it takes 2 hrs to mow the lawn and do that every week for 26 weeks a year....

for MMM Hours I use the SWAG method - (Scientific Wild Guess) 1 hour to mow X 25-30 mowings per year = 100 hours so far.

schmism,
I have a 914A on my TC29D and do the following maintenance.
Every 10hrs. grease all zerk fittings on the (3) drive belt spindles, (4) wheels, (2) front wheel pivots and drive shaft/ (2) u-joints. The book says every 25hrs but I get a lot of dust on mine with a fine sand, plus those blades spin at a high speed and don't need to be running dry or dirty.
As for the gearbox I top it off every year and change out the SAE 80-90W gear lube every other year.
The belt is huge and I don't plan on changing it until it cracks or breaks. There is a tension spring that needs to be adjusted so that there is a distance of 5- 9/16 " between the eyelets where the spring hooks on.
I hope this helps, Again this is for a 914A mmm.
