Yes made it to the dealer. Now it is a hurry up and wait game!

Well the dealer had my tractor for a little over 2 weeks and had about 6 hrs on it, but they said they could not make it act up. I brought it home used it the first day and it did not act up for me either. Got it out a week later and it has started to do it again. The only thing that has changed is I have added fuel to it. So all I can figure is I need to start getting my fuel from a different supplier and see if anything changes. I have a hard time believing it is the supplier b/c many farmers and construction companies use their fuel but maybe my tractor is picky either way I guess it is a starting point.

It just gets on my nerves that it would not act up at the dealer (granted they may have only started it up and let it sit there above idle waiting for it to show signs of malfunction vs. actually putting it under a load and using it.) b/c now I have wasted $250 in fuel and $100 in labor rates as they said they could not issue a service warranty since it showed no signs of malfunction.
Ohh well I guess I'll just start w/ the fuel and go from there.
If anyone has any other insights I am more than willing to hear them out.

First - prepare to get very frustrated. Then I would suggest trying to find a way to create the problem regularly. then back to the dealer. If you have time you might read some of my thread "TL80a Engine popping - help!!!!" in the New Holland Forum. My NH did smoke real bad once on startup. There is something wrong - good luck. Maybe take an extended video to take to the dealer.

Yes mainly from 1200-1800.

Anytime you take your tractor in for anything, ask to speak with the mechanic. Also when you pick your tractor up. When you buy a new tractor, ask to meet the mechanic. Stop in from time to time to say him or her. This all pays big dividends when you have a problem like this.

Yes low sulfur is all that is available here.

My fathers old JD 2010 smoked similar to your tractor. We found that the oil bath air filter was in desperate need of cleaning causing too much fuel compared to the air through the filter. Possibly not the same problem but very easy to check.
