Live Cam of African Waterhole

I got an email from one of my friends here at TBN about a website with a live cam on a waterhole in Africa.

It's the coolest thing I've come across online, and I wanted to share it with those of you who are into this sort of thing. There is somebody controlling the camera and they will pan across the fields looking for animals, zoom in on them and follow them around as they do there thing.

One of the best things about it is the sounds you hear. It's just the coolest thing to have on even when not on the computer!!!!

You have to watch it in the morning because it will be dark there before noon here, but even at night, it turns to black and white and looks like infra red to me. The sounds get more intense, but you don't see as many animals.

So far I've seen impala, blue wildebeest, zebra, hyena, baboons, monkeys with long tails, egyption geese and doves. I keep watching for what else is out there, but just the sounds are what's really amazing!!!!

Wow, that's cool.
I could have sworn I heard a lion, but then there was a sound of a jeep nearby then car door closing. So it might not have been a lion.

My little girl loves going to the Africam site. It's like opening presents at christmas, you never know what will be at the watering hole.

Isn't it weird how so many of the african animals are diurnal? Unlike our deer, that come out at night.

Although, if you've ever walked around in the african bush at night, you might understand why. Every hair on your body begins to ache from standing on end. You don't want to meet the things that "go bump in the night" in Africa.

My first time to Africa was when I was an Embassy Marine in Cameroon. On my 21st birthday, a couple Marines and I went out drinking at a little hole in the wall nightclub. When we left, we had to walk down a dirt road to where the taxi's parked. While walking, somebody grabbed me and pulled me over. I thought I was getting mugged, but the guy instantly apologized and pointed down on the ground. I had just stepped on a black momba!!!!!

The luck of drunks and fools kind of sums that one up. hahaha

On my trip, I ran into this charming little fellow.

I watched for about two hours , It was about 2am Africa time , I didn't see thing moving except a strange bird . The bird would just stand there and every once in a wile it would fly across the water . Strange noises and some of the bugs were big . very cool .

10 AM here in Texas, and there's aroudn two dozen blue wildebeest laying around the water hole. There area few eating, but most are just relaxing.

The other day there was a very large hyena swiming in the water hole. I've never seen that on any of the wildlife TV shows!!!
