I'm thinking of buying a Yanmar to replace my old Ford 8n. Do any models have live pto what models would have more horsepower than the 8n, 20 hp.Thanks Ken

Live PTO: I don't believe any of the Yanmar models have live PTO. I know my YM2220D does not.

HP: The first two digits in the 4 digit grey market model number is the PTO horsepower. Add 10-15% for the engine HP. For example mine (YM2220D) is a 22 PTO HP and about 25 Engine HP.

Don't overlook weight.

These things were designed to run a rototiller all day at full output so they're indestructible, but a 20 hp Yanmar does not have near the weight, and therefor the traction, of your Ford. I think the Yanmar match for it might be up around 26 pto hp plus some ballast if you need to pull a plow, etc.

Comparable tire sizes (2wd) might be a first clue to comparability.

If you just need 20hp to drive the pto, then 20hp is 20hp.
