My battery is getting weak. I was wondering if anyone knew the battery number/type? I looked at the top of it and its a AC/Delco with a 58 on it. Didnt know if there is a generic number. I'm no battery expert. I want to get one before I take out the old one. Have to remove the loader. It was 18 degrees this morning and it did start ok to blade the snow but its marginal now. Lot's of glow plug before cranking..
thx
Jim

Jim,
For batteries here is what I do.
Measure the height, width, lenght of the existing battery.
Also you need to know the terminal type (top or side mount/round or screw in type).
Get a heavy duty farm/tractor battery with the highest cold cranking amps on the shelf..
I recommend if you go to a auto parts store or TSC for a battery you may want to take the old battery along and compare size and terminals. The last tractor battery I purchased had a $10 core charge. Easier to drop the old battery while you are there and save a later trip back to get your core deposit back..

Like Vince said; get as much CCA and reserve you can. Also, check to see if the battery you have in there now is as big as you can go. Maybe the battery tray will accept a larger battery.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to take the battery out this weekend and match something up.
thx
Jim
