I have a 1998 model with a decompression feature. Do you guys routinely use it in the winter time to build oil pressure before starting? I noticed the newer models do not have it and my manual for the tractor is a new one.

Thanks, -Keith

I have a 94 model with decompression and that's what I use it for, I'm like you... I have an owners manual for the newer (non decompression models) ones also, so I guess if 2 people are doing the same thing it must right!

I have a '99 model with a broken cable on the decompression attachment so I don't use it at all right now. But.. I have a Owner's Manual from 1994 I bought off ebay a while back and here is what it has to say about using the decompression knob. (see attachment)

I hope this helps clear things up.

It was a standard feature on my 2002 LK2554, but I have never used it. The glow plugs work fine. I may try it this winter, though.

I'm glad I could help. This will be my first winter with my Kioti, so I'll have to see if not using the decompression attachment is going to be a problem for me. I don't think it will be. Lucky for me we don't get real winters here. If it hits freezing... that's dang cold!!
