virgil,

Or anyone, is there a way to get all the smaller metal shavings off the magnetic plug. I keep cleaning but no matter what I always seem to leave some. guess it's normal but would like someone to confirm that.

My 3054 Manual suggest the first hydraulic/transmission fluid change be done @ 35 hours and the oil/filter change be done @ 50 hours. I did notice that there are a lot of draing plugs.

Dewave - I just take a clean rag and wipe it off the best i can. That seems to get most of it. Might try holding another magent up to it if you really wanna get it clean.

dewave - it is difficult at best to get ALL the shavings of a magnetic plug. That is what a magnetic plug is for. As was mentioned before, Just take a rag and wipe it off the best you can. Look at it this way... If you are not able to get ALL the shavings off with a rag, just think how good this ancient idea really works. Simple, and it works good.
I like the K.I.S.S. idea! (keep it simple stoopid)
I also like the idea of someone really paying attention to a piece of machinery... Dollars well spent.

I'm with you Virgil. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled my plug and found it had magnets. I was wondering if they had put one in the pan and how I was going to find and clean it. This was a great feature to find. John
