LK3054XS Kioti
My tractor cameback late yesterday after a month away. Apparently according to the dealer a washer and/or nut was left off during assembly, at 192 hours this caused the throwout bearing etc not to funtion properly. No materials were put into this repair.

More to follow after I talk to Kioti corporate.

Hope all is well for a while.

Interesting as I was thinking about my throw out bearing this weekend.

We've got a grease fitting under a cover on the side of the tractor to grease the throw out bearing. I need to grease that fitting. If I remember correctly I'm only supposed to give it a little grease. I've got an airpowered grease gun, need to get a good manual gun as my old one broke.

Good luck,
Joel

I am not really sure why it took a month. It does require the tractor be "split" or broken in two. At the previous dealer that repaired the backhoe (Did I say defective backhoe...service bulletin etc...) he claimed parts fell off the UPS truck.

In all fairness this dealer knew my dissatifaction with the previous dealer and they were still willing to work on the tractor. I have to give them a lot of credit for that and they are talking with Kioti for some potential reimbursement for the manufacturing defect (the second one!).

One thing I would like mention is contrary to what the dealer that worked on the backhoe said this one claims that the tractor is not abused, in fact is in good shape.

I am so confused...........:)

Agreed, just that the mention of the bearing got me to thinking about the lubrication I need to do.

Did everything a couple of months ago but that, will do next weekend.

When you state that the nut and washer were not installed. Was the machine split for the other repairs you had done? I thought they were primarily hydro in nature, not sure, even if split, why the clutch pack would've been torn down. Or is it thought it was that way from the begining?

Thanks,
Joel

Jim,
I tried to pm you on your pto problem but it was blocked. So I will post it here.

Was the pto loaded or bare? I would suspect that your clutch my be dragging a bit if it was just turning with no implement. Did it stop when you disengaged the pto?

Hey Sandlot, mine did the same last weekend, when the PTO lever was in neutral, the shaft still spun. I could easily stop by hand (had rubber boot on it). I'm thinking just some friction or fluid flow of some kind.

Not sure if Jim's was doing in neutral or not.

As I recall from your earlier thread, you had to have some bushings or pins replaced on the BH apparently due to lack of lubrication. Am I remembering correctly? At under 200hrs, if true I'd say that justifies questioning whether the tractor had received proper maintenance from its first owner.
