LN-7 feeder Keeps Jamming

ANother thing you could do is take a look on kijiji or something and see if anyone has a used tweco/bernerd/lincoln gun. Might be a bit risky though, might get another problem one.

Maybe bad batch of contact tips? I wouldn't buy a new gun yet.

Went to the local welding shop this morning and got a new gun. It is a benard with a swivel end( cool feature) badged as a Praxair. It takes bigger tips than my other gun and just looks bigger..Price wasnt too bad..came to 391 canadian bucks with taxes in plus a 5 pack of tips..works the very best now:thumbsup:

I did keep the old gun and maybe use it on the back-up parts machine if i find another set of hoses/cables for the cv-300.

I check liners by running feeding wire through them (after removing the nozzle and tip) until the wire protrudes about three inches from the diffuser (where the tip mounts in the gun). I turn off the welder.

I cut the wire CLEANLY between the wire roll and the feed rollers, then release the feed rollers and GENTLY with the gun cable as STRAIGHT as I can get it, pull the wire from the gun end SLOWLY and feel for drag. If it isn't smooth, I replace the liner. The liner itself should remove smoothly though some are a bit tight.

I maintained MIGs for a vo-tech and have troubleshot and replaced many liners.

I'm sure the Bernard will serve you well for many years.
