Load match option- 4310

Yesterday I had a project to level a large pile of dirt with my 4410. Not sure if it was me but something just didn't seem right with the FEL performance. I had the 48 BH off and had my boxblade on. I pushed into the pile of dirt and a few times it seemed like it didn't want to lift it. I backed out of the pile a bit and it would then lift it. I didn't feel I had a bucket a dirt beyond what it could lift. It was loose dirt and I was at edge of the pile. I raised the engine speed to PTO mowing speed. Seemed to help a little. I then tried turning off loadmatch and it did much better at lifting but you could see the engine lug a bit. I got the job done and didn't think much of it until my drive into work today.

Last week I was doing some work pulling some stumps with the BH and moving large piles of dirt with the FEL. I didn't recall and issues like yesterday. I even used the FEL to lift and move two very large pine stumps. I have the power beyond kit for the backhoe.

With the BH off there is a loop hose for the power beyond kit. It has a very tight bend in the hose. I was wondering if a restriction in this hose would cause a drop in hydraulic performance? With the BH on this hose is not connected. Not even sure if I have an issue as it was my seat of the pants feeling on FEL performance yesterday.

On the loadmatch. It was explained to me by my Dealer the way JD explained it to sales when it was released. They drove the compact into a pile of dirt with and without the loadmatch on. I asked if loadmatch came into play using the FEL or BH. My Dealer thought not unless I was moving. I'm not sure if that is correct. It seems to me loadmatch is watching engine speed and might limit hydraulics to keep from lugging the engine. I was not moving yesterday while trying to lift a bucket at the dirt pile. I tried it with and without loadmatch and got different results.

I spoke with my Dealer and they asked if I might have had the 3pt up very high with the boxblade and in relief. They feel this could cause low FEL performance. I do have the 3pt adjusted so it lifts the BH high enough to get the pins in. I could have had the boxblade lifted up to the max setting. Will have to check this out next time I'm using the FEL with the boxblade.

In a normal cruise at 1800 RPM, with hydro in "B" range, the speed slows (no stop--just slow) when load match is engaged. Is this normal? FEL works better, and engine doesn't lag with bucket full, etc. with it on -- only speed is reduced. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif thanks,

LoadMatch on my 4610 eHydro seems to work as advertised. In fact, it was the second feature I "tested" (after the cruise control!!) to see if it worked. I pushed the FEL into a pile of gravel at 2000 rpm, Range B, with LoadMatch off and the engine lugged down as the tractor came to a stop in the pile. I did it again with LoadMatch on and I went about the same distance into the pile but the tractor slowed to a stop on its own with only a slight decrease in engine rpm. It was as if I was lifting my foot off the hydro pedal to match the engine power available, but I had my foot in the same place all the time. Pretty neat. The one discovery I have made is that LoadMatch, at least on my tractor, in Range B, tends to become proportionally less effective as rpm is reduced starting at about 1800 rpm and below. At around 1200 rpm it doesn't seem to make a difference if it's on or off. In Range A, it works down to about 1000. My tractor was delivered in July. I know the computer controls this function, so maybe I have benefit of the latest software load that might address some problems ya'll may have. Oh yeh, it seems to work the same using the box blade, too.

Thanks for the info...I guess mine's working okay then too. I have a 4710, just turned 50 hrs., and I think I was running too low on the RPM scale. As I said, it works great when operating the loader, and, like you, I can see a difference when loading. The only thing (negative?) I've noticed is that the speed reduces -- no change in RPM -- when running @1700-1800 and the load match activated. When I deactivate the load match, the speed returns to normal.

In short, I think I'm okay /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif unless of course, someone else had the same condition and had it corrected.

Again, thanks for your input...

Well, I picked up the tractor today and this is what they found. They had to download a new program into the computer and they changed out a speed sensor. I have not had a chance to load down the machine to see if this fixed the problem or not. They tested the unit for 2 hours and stated that everything should be fine. All I have to say is thank God that it has been under warranty all this time, otherwise I don't know what I would have done. I am thinking about looking into buying an extended warranty, if there is such a thing. All this electronics is very new to the service guys, they are just starting to train on this stuff, making them very "GREEN". Hopefully the techs will have better test equipment and a better understanding as more people start bringing in the newer machines.
