Loaded Tires on a Bx

The way I did mine after loading them was........I used my floor jack to raise it, rolled 1 tire over and adjusted the jack to get one bolt started, then worked jack to get a second(I ain't trying to hold a loaded tire in the air, LOL), then tightened it down. Then I did the same with the other side. These tractors are small enough that you can swivel the jack while it's in the air, so you can see the holes, and work the handle at the same time.

That is the way I did it on the 8N.

I have both R-4s and turfs for our 2670 and was thinking of loading the R4's. How much weight would I gain?

It depends on what kind of fluid you go with. They hold 8.3 gallons.

I went foamed filled for the BX rears... added weight and no more flats.

Noticed an improvement for stability, backhoe work and love not getting flats!

Foam filling is an option offered at some tire shops..

I had to mine done in farm country outside Stockton CA.

Basically, the tire has a small hole drilled in the side wall and foam is pumped in through the valve stem.

The the tire needs to undisturbed to allow for the foam to set... a few hours.

Foam replaces the air... so the tire can never go flat.

The shop I used also recaps tires so I can bring the worn tires in and they will cap them at 50% cost of new.

Foam comes in several densities... I think mine are medium.

Foam adds weight which lowers the center of gravity so I noticed better stability on sloping ground.

I think I paid $125 each for my BX23 rears.

Foam is not recommended for the BX fronts... something to do with impact to the drive system over terrain.

94BULLITT, says they hold about 8 gals, so figure about 80lbs per tire.

Are R4's that much smaller than turfs? I put 11 gallons in my turfs and they aren't full by any means.

I found that number on rim guards website. Your tires are only supposed to be filled 75% full. The R4's, turfs, and ags are the same size on a BX.

Yup, I know that. Valve on top and I get a mix of air and washer fluid out. But I put in 10 gallons of fluid in them and it was still all air so I added almost a gallon of water too.
