Comparison Loaded tires or Ballast Box?

For the lawn, I use a riding lawn mower.

On the tractor, I have loaded tires, 3 sets of wheel weights, and a box blade with a massive rock wedged on top of the box blade.

Seems to work out better all around that way.

It all depends on what you are doing with the tractor. I could never have convinced my wife to buy the tractor if I still had to have a separate mower. That was most of the justification, and most of the hours on my 2520 have been spent cutting grass. The 2520 has cut my mowing time by more than half, and uses less fuel than what I was cutting it with previously. I also don't have the room to store more equipment. The 62D deck is a breeze to take on and off, and is easy to service.

Ah, but if you buy the tractor first then wait for the time that it has to go into the shop and then have it linger in the shop too long, then you can justify the other mower! That is what I did, my unit went in for a warranty fix and then the parts took a while to come in, so the grass got real tall and the larger animals starting roaming our yard, wife started noticing that and then boom - clearance for the GS255 - I primarily use it for mowing areas the 3520 is too tippy for comfort, at this point. But it is ready to go for the entire lawn when I need it. Wish it was diesel though, then I could use one type of fuel.
