Loader and bucket leak down over night on ck25 with kl130 loader.

I disconnected the quick connects today for the loader. The curl cylinders leaked down fairly rapidly. The lift cylinder did not seem to leak down much. I did replace one of the lift cylinders in the last two or three years. I guess I be rebuilding both curl cylinders and one lift cylinder. Could leaky cylinders cause a loss in lifting power/ability?

Yes, seal by-pass in a cylinder can reduce lift/power ability. Oil going past the seal won't allow the cylinder to reach max pressure so when high pressure/force is needed it may stall out before reaching relief valve pressure.

Thanks for the replays. I'm going to rebuild the cylinders when I get a chance. I'll let everyone know how I make out.

It may only be one cylinder that has gone bad as they are tee'd together at the center of the loader. Trying to diagnose is a little tougher unless you can remove both hoses and see which one the most fluid is coming from while it is creeping down/curling.

Can you pull curl cyl pins alternately (side to side) and put your weight (sit) on the bucket to see which one leaks, or leaks worse?

Of course, I'm assuming that you'd start up to position the bucket, and that the disconnected cyl would become/remain extended during this test .... after shutting down.

Finally got the chance to rebuild both cylinders. One was defiantly bad the seals were blown right out. The other looked ok but I replaced the seals anyways. Have not had a chance to try it out, because I have to finish up a few other projects that I started. I'm excited to see how much better it works, because I feel like I lost lifting power with the bad cylinder.
