I started to get some rot through on my loader bucket. the previous owner left water in the bucket so I ended up with lots of pitting and its getting pretty thin is certain areas I spent some time this past weekend cutting out and welding back some good metal. And I can continue to patch it as areas become weak. I still have some work to do with welding grinding and patching, but it got me thinking if in the long run it would be cheaper (time wise) to get a replacement bucket (if they are even available) or even somehow convert to a quick attach.

Has anyone with a V-Tek loader replaced their bucket and if so what did you do?

I was thinking maybe fabbing a new one. But Hoye's prices aren't bad if you can make it work.

We had a few buckets built by a local metal fab shop many years ago. I don't remember the exact cost but I remember thinking it really wasn't too bad. We just took in some drawings with dimensions and they bent some plate steel into a bucket shape and welded on the ends and brackets.

Thanks all. My bucket is 60 inches and dont want to lose the space. I could always take this bucket to a shop and have them bend and duplicate and but the brackets back on. Even if I found a bucket , the extra shipping would add significant cost relative to the cost of the bucket.

We have a couple of surplus V-tek buckets left over. I think there were a few different bracket configuration so you would need to check the listed measurements to be sure they will fit. I only have the 50" left though.

that's a decent price for a new bucket
and if you can cut/weld a new bucket, changing brackets will be way easy

I got a NOS bucket from my local Agco dealer for $250, it was 14 years old but brand new sitting in a shed, I did have to dig for an hour to get it out though.
A brand new bucket from them is around $600

I checked at my local weld shop and the steel would be about $300+ and I'd still have to weld it together and that didn't include the cost of a cutting edge
