My 2816's loader (ml106) cylinders have black inserts rather that chrome like most other hydralic systems. I'm just curious but is there any difference.

When I bought the tractor they had a several models including a 2816 with chrome cylinders.

It probably doesnt make any difference in performance/quality but just thought I would ask.

Thanks.

I don't know about the black inserts, never have seen them By the way, duckhunt, welcome to Mahindra World. Just curious, why did you go with the 5ft angle blade? My dealer sold me a 7' so it would cover my tracks when fully angled.

Good Question. When I bought the tractor I just told him I wanted a 5ft angle blade and he just said OK. I wish I would have went with a 7 ft. Mine isnt heavy enough to grade anything but sand. I'm going to weld a couple hundred lbs of weight to it when I get a chance. That should help.

BTW, How do you like that toothbar? I've been looking at getting one. I have been cleaning a house place with small trees and brush and figure a toothbar would be a big help.

Are you talking about the cylinder rods? Could it be black nitride?

Wow! Now I know. I always thought it was some cheap alternative to the chrome. Glad I asked.

Thanks for the reply.

Thats right, My neighbors John Deere has them. I already asked him about the black rods and he didnt know either. I'll have to tell him about Black Nitride.

The first thing I did to my bucket was to install a toothbar, and reinforce the top edge with angle iron. I then welded hooks to the angle iron. If you plan on getting the most out of your tractors digging ability, get a toothbar. They do assist in clean up as well, but nothing like a grapple will do.
