The joystick on my LA853 FEL on my L5030 Kubota would not stay in the float position which is all the way forward.

The dealer cleaned out the detent ball bearings once years ago and it started working but only lasted for several months. For the price of a repair I could but a new kit, so I did.

The kit is Kubota part # YW232-91102

Here is a picture of the Kit: consist of parts - 30 thru J

The joystick assembly has two of these "6 sided tubes" coming off the bottom. The one that has the detent for the bucket float is the one closest to the tractor. It come off easily with a 1 1/4" socket. You do not have to take the joystick cover off.

Once the detent tube came off you can see the rest of the parts that were in the kit - they are still attached to the joystick assembly.

As you can tell, the dealer put quite a bit of grease on it, I cleaned it off and it looked like this. You can see some wear - little notches- on the edge of the bottom lip of the detent in the middle of the middle rod. This is where the 4 balls in the cover assembly wore out the lip that is suppose to keep the joystick in the forward position.

I thought that was the problem (and it still might be because the rod rotated a tad maybe to the unworn piece is now against the balls) but instead of taking the spring, spacers and washers apart and trying to compress them to screw them into the joystick block I just installed the new cover with the detent balls. It now works perfect, but if it does act up again I have the rest of the kit to finish the repair. The cost of the kit was $112.

I did end up having to replace the entire kit. But is was very easy. Only tools used were a 10mm wrench and a vise grips.
