Hello all. My Ford loader (model 1708) on my Ford tractor (model 1920) has delevoped a leak on one of the hard hydraulic lines that run down the loader arm. I know replacment is pretty straightforward, loosen connections and replace line. However, I have never done this and I don't know if I have to bleed any pressure out of the lines first. Has anybody ever done this on a 1920 and do I have to bleed pressure? If so, how do I bleed pressure? Dont want to get sprayed with high pressure oil...

Thanks

Never done this on 1920 but...
To bleed the pressure lower the bucket to the ground, shut the tractor off and move the levers or joystick in all directions. This should relieve any trapped pressure in the lines. I would still carefully crack the fittings since any small trapped air pocket will still spurt oil out.

Lower bucket to the ground with engine off move both levers in both directions. This should relieve any pressure. Replace line & operate loader to purge the air. Don't forget to check hyd oil level after R&R of line.
