Yanmar 1401
Hi, I am installing a loader onto my yanmar 1401 that I bought a few months ago. I built all the brackets etc. and have it mounted to the tractor. What I was hoping was someone could help me with the hydraulic connection. From what I understand I need to cut a section out of the hi-pressure line and install fittings and hoses, one from the pump to inlet side of the loader valve and then line from outlet side of valve to hi-pressure line continueing to 3point. Like the diagram on this page web page

I also understand I need to make sure that I have a open center type valve..

How do I tell if that is what I have?

Also where can I get the compression fittings? Or could I use some type that I could braze on etc.

Thanks

If you have a hydraulic shop near you they will have the compression fittings. I used some 90's after attaching the compression fittings to make the turns across the tractor to the valve. The only thing I can suggest is to check with the supplier of the valve to assure that it is open center.

Most valve come as open center valves . Aplug usually has to be installed to make them closed center. To tell if a valve is open center, blow in the IN port. if air comes out the out , it is open center. If nothing comes out it is closed center. You can braze pipe fittings on the hydraulic lines to hook your hoses to.

Thanks for the replies.
Excuse my ignorance but I thought brazing was only for copper and brass? Didn't know it worked for steel aslo.
So if I bought some black pipe nipples I could braze them to the high pressure line? What is the high pressure line steel also? Thanks.

At work we've brazed steel lines, and cast iron as well.

Black pipe and fittings are not rated for the pressures of your hydraulic system. Find the right fittings at a hydraulic supplier. The last thing you want is one of those fitting letting loose. At 2000psi, it can do some serious damage - especially to flesh.
