At one point I found pictures of a FEL that someone had mounted a rear blade to. Does anyone know where I might find it?

Thanks Don.
I think that there is one post older also. I had never seen this one before. Who ever posted the one I saw used a blade they bought when Farm and Fleet was going out of buisness.

Hmmm? Must have been a single store, because Farm and Fleet is going strong, last week when I was there. Fleet Farm is also going strong, and for my taste, is a more complete store.

Now maybe there are multiple 'chains' that call themselves Farm and Fleet. I think the one in the midwest is Blainey's Farm and Fleet.

The John Deere 419 FEL has a blade attachment (bucket drops off, blade goes on) that has the appearance of a rear blade mounted on the loader frame.

I expect the the other Deere FEL's have a similar attachment.

I mounted a rear blade on my loader arms too. Removed the bucket and cylinder, mounted the blade, and even used the bucket cylinder to angle the blade. Works great. I windrow the snow as much as I can, then turn around and hit it with my snow blower. I'll try to post a couple pictures, but at this moment, do not have the blade installed. The width was almost perfect for the loader arms.

OK, I think I got the hang of attaching a picture, so I'll explain further. The loader arms attach to the blade via two bolts that are the same diameter as the bucket pins. The bucket cylinder is removed, and a top link is installed to hold the position of the blade. In this picture, you can see where the bucket cylinder is attached (I apologize, I have the bucket on right now, so you cannot get the full picture.) I had to lengthen the hydraulic lines on the cylinder to accommodate the new position. The angle feature works great.

QUALITY Farm and Fleet closed all of their stores due to bankruptcy a couple of years ago. Many of them reopened as Tractor Supply Company locations.

Thanks for the link. Nice job on your universal FEL mount. I like your thinking. G

There is a post from last winter in which I mounted a pickup truck blade to the loader. If you want to plow snow it is great.
Post was in Attachments on 11/30/03. (don't know how to link to old posts) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
