I have a JD 5055e with a 533 loader. When I raise the bucket and let go of the handle, I expect it to return to neutral. But it does not. The bucket keeps raising until it hits the stops or I push the loader handle back to neutral. This does not seem right. Is it? The dealer replaced the valve at 330 hours, it now has 336 hours and is doing it again. I'd hate to replace valves every 6 hours! Any Ideas what to look at? I'll be going into the dealers tomorrow to show him a video I took since that is supposedly fixed to see what he says. Of course, he wants $250 to transport the tractor even if it is a warranty issue. We'll see what happens.

I recently encountered a similar problem, it was recommended to check the spring, it turned out to be the float detent rod was not fully screwed into the spool rod. Remove the casing at the bottom of the spool and inspect it closely I mossed it the first time when I checked the spring.
