Hi to all

Does anyone know if the bx25 will be able to load a gmc mason dump. It's a 3500.

Thanks

Thanks....lol

From what I do know the lift height of the BX is 71.5" which is pretty close to 6' and not having the mason dump here right now I was just trying to see if someone either has tried this already or may even know roughly the height of the side rail of the dump's bed without any wood in the gussets. I looked at the Dump today and of course never thought at the time to measure....brain freeze I guess!!!!

The dump is a GMC 3500

Thanks

John

I don't know for sure - but I would say it would be tight. It might clear the side but be limited when trying to dump the bucket and/or trying to ditribute the load

Sorry - not much help - but I am always suprised how close it is with just a 3/4 or 1-ton pickup

I have borrowed a high profile dump trailer and to be able to load it by dumping a load of dirt beside trailer and driving up on it to give me 4-6" more height.

My thinking is a flat bed dump would beat a pick up bed dump hands down.

Less hight to lift over and another plus is forks can be used to load and unload from both sides and the back.

I have loaded a f-550 dump with my bx-24 and it just cleared the side of the body. Dumping and distributing the load were close to impossible, it ended up having two mounds, one on each side because I had to load it from both sides and couldn't reach the center.

I've found that there is a difference between being able to reach high enough and being able to reach everywhere needed. I recently rented a relatively low trailer and loaded it with sand with my BX. It was approximately this trailer, although it was a deck-over. I can't find the exact trailer:

Trailer Features, Specifications and Options: Bri-Mar

I would not want to load anything higher than that with a BX, personally. And I'd prefer something lower, actually. The trailer had 2x10 planks around the perimeter to increase the capacity, and with those on, I could still dump in. But, I removed them so that I could at least try to dump close to the middle. I also attached two photos I took, although they're not great.

This, of course, does not answer the question at hand. But, perhaps you can find out the height of that dump bed somewhere (full size Chevy forum?) and compare it to the height of this trailer. It's really awkward trying to load something that is close to the max height of the loader.

Thanks to all.

I will be getting the dump next week and I will be sure to post some pic's just in case someone encounters the same question.
I must say though that I was quite nicely surprised that the 550 ford was loadable understanding well that that was about all that could be done. I do know that the GMC's and the Chevy's are lower so that's a plus.(Not the Chevy or GMC)...but the BX.

I did realize that if had to I could always mound up some dirt alongside but I was hoping that would only be the case for a higher sided dump and now that seems to be the case.

Thank you all once again

Hope you all had a nice Halloween
