Loader Operation on compacts

/ Loader Operation on compacts #21
Hey all,
First post here. Beginning my search for a 32-39 HP tractor with loader for tilling, spreading, spraying and occasional loader/pallet work.
Would really like to know which makes of tractors in this range have loaders that can both curl and lift at the same time (if any)?
I am sure I would get use to single action loader work but I never owned a tractor before and all the ones I have used in the past had dual operation buckets.
Thanks for your help guys. Be posting soon to seek help making a final selection. So far narrowed down to JD 3032e, LS XR3037HST, Kioti CK35HST and Kubota MX series if budget permits. Open to slightly used models too.
my mahindra max 25 curls and lifts simultaneously - no problem.

The Deere's have a loader models with self leveling buckets.

True, but not on the size machine the OP was asking about (39hp and lower). I'm not certain, but I don't think anybody offers a self-leveling loader on a machine under 40hp.

Does the Kubota B26tlb have automatic leveling? Not sure if their "mechanincal spill guard" is the same as what most of us consider self leveling.

Don't think so. Self-levelling is common with larger equipment, of course, and I think Deere is the only manufacturer to date offering it on its larger compact models with the 400CX. Another example of "mission creep" in the compact tractor market... buyers seeking to do things previously the domain of larger equipment with their "compact" tractors.

It's hard enough to see around my (admittedly old) Ford 7109 loader without the leveling linkage - don't think I'd want that extra obstruction. This 22 year old loader with joystick is easy enough to keep level as you raise it, by feathering. A more modern curved arm loader is probably better.

That's true, in compacts, the JD 300cx & 400cx loaders are mechanical self leveling. I believe they are the only mfg that offers this in a compact

L39-L45-M59

Really slick self leveling and controls!

I hate the loader control on my Max28 in comparison.

Thanks all.
The test driving starts this week. Got a loan approved and want to do this right.
I have no idea what self leveling means. I like the float function on FELs. Is that the same concept with "draft" on the 3 point side?
Thanks

No, draft control controls the depth of 3PTH sink on ground engaging implements. Float puts no down force on the loader arms, allowing it to float with the terrain. The 3PTH always is floating, unless you have a down force kit. Position control allows the 3 point to be placed in an exact position again and again. You will want loader float, and 3 point position and draft control.

The CK35 does have simultaneous lift/curl as well as dump raise/lower and curl lower. Very nice loader joystick operation.

Heck, even the Kubota BX has simultaneous lift and curl. I thought most tractors had that, although I've heard of one or more of the smaller John Deere models that don't.

FEL = all tractors should be able to use both curl / lift at same time. a HIGHER RPM = more GPM (gallons per minute) and will cause things to move quicker. you are getting the same PSI (pressure) going to both curl/lift. it is just dependent on GPM (gallons per minute) the other factor is diameter of the hyd cylinders.

as others have said "skill" can be a big one.

FEL (Control valves) can differ alot. some real cheap basic control valves, and then some valve setups that offer say regenative. hyd oil goes to lift, then from lift to curl, and then curl back to valve. (everything is in series kinda vs parrallel), there is also quick dump (i forget correct term) but allows loader to "power down or fall down much faster"

some FEL's have kinda of an auto leveler, more so for general duty buckets full of say dirt / rock. and keeping the bucket in correct position so crud does not roll back down onto tractor when lifting the FEL.

some FEL's control valve setups have a "float" you adjust the curl of bucket and then arms of the FEL go up and down freely as you go over the ground. much like a 3pt hitch.

most of the bigger manufactures have a "custom build tractor" pages, and have a page if not a few pages of "additional options" many of these extra options can be extremely handy. go through each "additional option" and then google search it / youtube search it. Tractor Attachments And Skid Steer Attachments For Any Tractor Or Skid Steer has some nice video's showing / explaining a lot of difference pieces of equipment.
==============
about only thing additional i can think right off the bat is "third function valve / joystick" for a FEL so you could run say a grapple on the FEL.

Even the little Deere's have loader valve plumbing (series/parallel) that should allow for simultaneous lift/curl. From what the owners say, it takes some getting used to in order to find the sweet spots in the joystick. Enough people have said that the kubota's do it pretty well, so there must be something to it.
If you've ever operated a bigger tractor with a closed center system with a 20-30 GPM capacity, you will say that all of the CUT's suck pretty bad in that dept.
