Somewhere along the way I hope to put a loader on my little 1110d. I know that I need a subframe, but I'm not sure exactly how the frame should be built. I was hoping some board members could post some pics of what their subframe looks like.

Make the loader small, the front axel on an 1110D has bushings not bearings in the vertical towers and with the loader weight it is easy to do damage to the gears.

"bushings in the vertical tower"

I went through the front axle, and I can't recall coming across any bushings. The steering knuckle is located by some fine roller bearings, there are some good sized ball bearings for the knuckle and the axle was supported by a double roller bearing. Which one did I forget?

The link below shows some pix of the subframe on a YM2000 that I posted in response to a similar inquiry last year. The original poster eventually PM'ed me and said he built it that way and it worked perfect. Just make everything half size. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I didn't describe it in that post, but you can see on most tractors the horizontal stiffeners that go forward from the towers to a frame that attaches to the front bumper.

I rebuilt a front 1110D front axel a few months ago. It had thrust bearings but used a brass bushing for the vertical support. We had to cut two new ones to repair it and replace all the gears. Maybe it was an older model. If yours has bearings then that is better for sure.

Yea, mine had some tiny needle bearings for the vertical pin. They were arranged in two rows, an upper and a lower. The upper ones had broken cages due to moisture attacking them. The upper gear ball bearing was also slightly pitted from water. It was clear the water was entering the top of the knuckle where the steering shaft enters. This area is above the oil level and the lubrication is minimal. I also found the thrust washer on one of the wheel bearings to be missing it's roll pin. This allowed the washer to back off and the axle to start wobbling. This caused the seal to go bad and start puking oil. Thankfully, these bearings and seals were readily available from my local bearing supply shop. The axle went back together without incident, but I developed a interesting problem the first time I engage 4wd. The front tires rotated in the opposite direction than the rears! Turns out I installed the ring gear backwards. Suprisingly the front axle is perfectly symetrical so the gear could be reversed and things would still fit! It's pretty obvious that even a perfectly functioning axle could still have major problems. This is on case where the "ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy could be expensive.
