I'm having problems with my loader raising under no load.
with the bucket full, everything works as it should. When empty, it doesn't want to raise, or drops then raises. sometimes I have to lower it all the way to the ground, and then it will raise after a long delay. Acts like maybe there's air in the hydralics? Why no problems under load, and no problems with the curl with or without load?

I have a JD 655, with hydrostat transmission, and ps. I believe the engine is 16 gross hp.

Sounds like you may have a problem with the selector valve body sticking. when is the last time the oil was changed?
