Loader Valve Recommendations?

Thanks guys for helping straighten up my thinking. I think my confusion came from the schematic and a different pivot point than my current valve. Basically, I was trying to match the movement of what I have and it is two different things. When my lever is pushed in it pulls the spool out. On this valve it would move spool in. Thus I did not understand which position on the schematic was spool in and spool out. Hopefully I will find a solution with out having to start all over with my setup.

Good news!! I finally was able to find a valve and ordered it today. Walvoil was able to get everything I was looking for in a small valve. The fine folks at Progressive Power & Control out of Indianapolis, Indiana were very helpful and responsive. Lead time is 4 to 6 weeks but from what I can tell it should be worth the wait. I will let everyone know how it works once it arrives.

Thanks again for everyones help and advice!

Glad you finally found a valve assembly. I certainly hope it meets all of your requirements.

Glad you got it figured out. Buy why were you so adamant on a 3-spool (joystick / 3rd function I assume).

I probably would have just given up and got a two spool joystick then added a electric 3rd function or diverter

I came close to giving up and doing just that.

The reason is I like the ability to feather the grapple and I prefer keeping things as simple as possible. With manual controls, I don't have to worry about electrical issues. Basically one less thing to go wrong if that makes sense.

If you like feathering....I'd have gone diverter. And never have to move your hand off the joystick to find that second lever.

I don't have to take my hand off to find the handle. You can reach both with one hand at the same time. The loaders we had on the farm did not have a joystick so I guess I am just use to it. But, no switch to go bad or wires to short out plus a few less hose connections is a good thing to me.

K5,
I 100% agree with the keep it simple principle as well as having the option to potentially feather the grapple and bucket functions at the same time. With the diverter it is an either or situation. When I had the skid loader on the farm with the grapple the ability to both dump and open the grapple was a very nice feature.

Oldnslo,
I understand why some that have always had a joystick and never worked multiple levers at one time would not understand. To me it is easy to do and gives the most flexibility.

Well, I received the new valve today. Unfortunately, it is not exactly as I ordered.

When the order was sent for me to verify, I noticed the order code called for the wrong orientation for the joystick. I sent an email asking for it to be checked and provided the correct code as described in the spec sheets. I was assured that it would be correct. Well, it came just as the numbers indicated.

I have a few options if I don't return the valve.

One, get use to lowering the boom by pulling the handle down.

Two, figure out a way to mount the valve upside down.

Also, no handles were sent although we discussed them.

From what I can see, in order to get the correct one it would require a different body. I will have to give them a call tomorrow and see what they suggest. I just hate to create an issue for these guys.
