My Zetor 4320 has 11gpm flow rate. If I replaced my faulty valve with this one, would I be able to operate a grapple off the third stick like a third function valve does? I don't know much about hydraulics as to what will work where and for what. I'm operating one off the hydraulic remotes right now b ut just figured, while I'm at it, I might add a third function. Yes that valve will provide three functions but I did not see where float was an option for the loader.

What is float? I saw some other valves which mentioned that word. What features will it need to have? Some mention "double acting", others "directional"

Float is a function that allows the loader to follow contour of ground with no down pressure or it floats across the ground.

float is typically a 4th position on the spool and also detented which locks it in that position

you require double acting for all the functions that you have described

also need load checks on every spool.

hope that information helps

I agree with oldnslo. That valve will provide the three functions: loader lift, bucket curl, and grapple. You might want to get the Power beyond sleeve because they are individual for each type loader control valve and having the PB sleeve makes it possible to "daisy chain" control valve assemblies to do other things as well.

"Double acting" means that the control valve is designed for a 2-way cylinder with power in both directions. That's typical for loaders. You want power both ways.
There are single acting control valves. Dump trucks use single acting because their weight brings them down.

"Directional"...beats me. As far as I can tell all control valve assemblies are directional... anyone?

I rarely use the float detent, but it is handy. Basically it is a detent position on the lift arm control that opens the ports completely so that the weight of the loader bucket is "floating" on the ground and follows the terrain. Good for smoothing and backdragging gravel and seed beds. Some people use the float to scoop snow up without gouging the ground.
If you can get a valve with float for another $50, I'd do it.

There are lots of discount and overstock hydraulic suppliers. The key is getting enough GPM to match your tractor, and also getting ports with the correct one of several similar hydraulic threads. All can be adapted, but adapters are pricey.

Did you see the thread on the TBN Zetor forum going on now?

I think this is the same valve at less cost and a lot more information. They are made by Badestnost in Bulgaria I am told. The power beyond port has a weird thread type (
  • N Port: #8 (1/2 – 14) G Thread (British Pipe Thread Parallel)
but should be not problem as the valve comes with a plug in that port. If you go with the power beyond sleeve adapter, it will have the correct thread to match.

Edit: I see that Magister is calling it a 13 GPM valve where Summit says 11 GPM.

Edit: I see that the float option on the Summit is available as a $60 option.

"Directional" as in "Directional Control Valve" or DCV commonly used in tractor nomenclature.
Trivia tidbit for today. :)
