I tried a search on this, but came up nil...

I have a 4110 hydro with a 410 loader. The loader was operating normally, then, as I drove into a pile of gravel, I found I could not raise it. I was able to curl the bucket, dump th eload and back away, but the up/down function is inoperable. I have plenty of hydro oil in it. The backhoe, steering and 3PH rockshafts all seem to be OK. What is wrong with this thing?

Thanks in advance!!!

make sure your quick connects are tight. they can look tight but not be all the way in. i am a newbie and discovered this recently.

I doublechecked: even took them off and put them back on to be sure, but nothing. It has down pressure, but no up.

I had a similar thing happen to my 410 loader and found that I needed to replace the "guts" on one of the quick connect assemblies. When I explained to the dealer the problem he knew right away what was wrong. Not saying it is your solution but it sure took care of my situation.

It definatly sounds like a QC (quick coupler) problem. Try switching the hoses and see if the problem switches also.

Yep......double check your quick couplers.......I have had tis problem from time to time and a coupler that came loose was the culprit every time!!!

Do you hear the pump whine when you ask for up? Then its probably a bad quick connect

Change your hydraulic filter

I'm pretty sure if the hydraulic filter was plugged he would have lost more than one function on the loader.

The leverage and cylinder size is different.
Has the filter ever been changed?
How many hrs on the machine?
A filter is less than $10.00 and takes 5 minutes to do.:D

When it comes to hydro problems 99% of the time it goes back to the filter.

90 hours and I changed the filter @ 50. The backhoe, steering, bucket dump and hydro all work fine.

I changed 2 out of the 4 quick couplers this week. JD is coming to get it tonight. It is still under warranty and my dealer said he would come to the rescue.

Many thanks,

Tombo

I had a simular problem with my 4320 while clearing some land. 1 of my quicck couplers had been bumped and wasn't seated all the way.The way it was acting II really thought I had broke something. But after bleeding down the hydraulic pressure I reseated them all and it worked like a champ

The dealer fixed it in my driveway. It was a faulty coupler, just one I hadnt replaced. Isnt that always the way?
