Thanks for the suggestions. The mower has always mowed level, so I have never messed with the adjustments. I will give that a try. Using a hill is an option at home, but I may not have that option elsewhere.

I will give the boards a try. I think I'm still going to have to replace the 5' ramps, but I don't want to buy ones any longer than I need.

Look at the "up-stop" first. Its on the right side frame of the tractor near the front of the mower deck. There is literally a piece of flat steel either sticking down from the frame, or up from the mow deck and that is what stops the mow deck from going up too high. Of course you want the mow deck raising almost all the way until that upstop hits, so check that first, thats super simple to check and that is as hi as you can lift you deck , so u will know if its worth adjusting it or not.
