Before I bought my trailer I was really concerned about the ability to load cars on a deck over. My last trailer was hard enough at times and it was a low drop deck with dove and 5' ramps. The dealer assured me most of the time it wouldn't be an issue. I must have got lucky with this one as he was right. So far I've had various kinds of vehicles on this trailer and they have all gone in. The ramp angle must be just the right compromise. And surprisingly the cars that are the worst are the older boats like in the picture. The more the body hangs over the back and front the worse it is. A new low to the ground car is no problem because the wheels are out close to the body corners.

If you have trouble, one quick trick is to make (or find) a small hill and park with the truck (van) rear tires on top of the hill. That will raise the front of the trailer and drop the rear, making the angles better for loading.

I can't rely on that option. I need to be able to pick em where there at. I can get some angle on the trailer with the 12K jack on the trailer but so far it hasn't been necessary. That same car has been towed 4x's by me. I can tell you it was a much more comfortable tow with the new trailer than my old 7K drop deck. This trailer barely knows that load is on it. My old one if it could speak would have been saying get this thing off me!

Now there is a real simple solution. I know raising the trailer front can help but driving the truck onto even small short ones could make a big difference in the ramp angle in the back. Thanks!!

Well I've discovered the trailer jack is stout enough to lift the back of the truck. Just a couple of degrees of deck angle does make a huge difference in the ramp angle. I drive a Cobalt and even that low car can drive on after lifting the front of the trailer a little.

We have a 16 car trailer (non dovetail). When we were looking at trailers we knew my wife's Miata would be hard to load. The problem was the front valance spoiler. I worked with a local/friend welder and he made ramp extentions that mount on the existing ramps. Ironically we have to use 2x12s to extend that "ramp" more. The hill option is good, but you have to find one when you get to your destination though.
