The trailer has no wheels?

I've been wondering about that. Are the wheels in a hole? Detached?

The museum's website has no better resolution photo posted

My guess is there's a set of bogies off camera to the right. They get the shovel into position, jack up the rear of the trailer, then mount the bogie. Kind of backwards of a modern lowboy.

Looking at it under high magnification, I think the shovel is up on blocks. The trailer has its wheels removed, then is shoved under the shovel, jacked up, and rewheeled. The shovel straddles the narrow frame trailer, supported on its undercarriage, with the treads hanging.

Mike Mulligan and mary Ann! Or is that one of those pesky newfangled electric shovels... I don't see a smoke stack.

Looks like the tractor (truck) has solid tires, too? Probably pulling all those tons of trailer and shovel with what, ~60 HP? awesome.
